Screencast-O-Matic is an online tool for screen recording. Available free with limited use of recording time and editing features. The low cost paid version allows full access to video, audio, PowerPoint, and images from your phone or PC. Screencast-O-Matic features extensive editing, adding text, animation, and scripted recording. Also, create captions with speech to text. Publish videos to YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, Vimeo Pro, or stored uploaded files to Screencast-O-Matic for retrieval. Education and business plans and services offered.
How to Use This Tool
To begin using Screencast-O-Matic click on hyperlink https://goo.gl/9Chh1H and begin your first recording session. Click on the Start Recording icon to begin the two minute tutorial on downloading the program.
The tutorial will prompt you to download the launcher followed by to download the full app.
Click on Launch Recorder icon.
Select and click again on Launch Recorder Icon
Select and click on Keep icon to start download
Select and click on Web Launch record…exe tab at bottom of screen
The adjustable record screen will appear to begin a screencast video. The record adjustable screen appears over a blank monitor screen.
The recording frame can also be dragged by using the up down arrows over an image on the monitor. Adjust the size be using the corner tabs or center tab to enlarge or shrink the top and bottom to fit the screen image.
Recording with the Webcam, click on the Webcam icon to record with no screen. Click on Both icon records both the Screen and Webcam.
The Webcam offers three options to choose the positioning of the Webcam during recording. Full Webcam screen, small Webcam reduced on the screen, or no Webcam on the screen recording.
To move the Webcam around the screen, move curser over Webcam window, positioning icon appears, click and drag into position.

Click each tutorial for detailed information on the many features Screencast-O-Matic offers for screencast recording, editing, and publishing. A tutorial is detailed with individual videos instruction for each step. Providing a ready reference for additional review for the online learner.
